Spit in public! Ground of disease and germs scares me!

Spitting is an old habit many Singaporean people cannot discard. Some people cannot walk 3 steps without going HORRRKKKK karr ptuiiii and ejecting lung juice.

Years ago coffee shops here had spittoons under every table for this. Today Singaporeans are supposed to be more civilized and should only spit at home or in toilet, to avoid spread of deadly germs that can cause downfall of human race like in War of the Worlds. Spitting is also an offence chargable in Singapore court of law.

Spitting is more common in uncivilized countries like China where everywhere will have people spitting. Some spit on floor, some spit into dustbin, some spit at cats. But all are really good at spitting, some can enter marksman championship for spitting at target.

Today I saw member of younger generation engaging in this old habit! Young beng kid kept bowing his head and so I went closer to investigate why his neck was so weak.






He seems very interested in looking at the ground.







What is on the ground? I don't see anything.









Aha!! I see a shiny drop of lung juice!





Same spot functions both as dustbin for spit and cigarette ash. Shopping center ground is indeed versatile!





And he goes on and on.





Nowadays I am very scared of where I step. HDB flat area got spit, shit and used rubbers on the floor because of unclean habits of older generation. But now even trendy shopping area and younger generation is not safe.
